In case you missed any of the awesome content I put out this week. Taylor Swift, MRIs and what you should know about picking a travel advisor were all on the table this week.
Canada- My Happy Place!
I went to Spain in 2016 and fell in love with the country. I thought I understood how your heart could ache for a place it had never been before from that experience. How it could long to return to a place you had been. The following year in 2017, my Travel Bestie (as mentioned in the Taylor Swift article), went to visit Canada.
We went to a little island called Prince Edward Island, the birthplace of Anne of Green Gables. This is one of my Travel Bestie’s favorite books. I know of the TV adaptations of this book so I was down from the trip. Honestly I’m always down for at trip.
From the moment we landed I was enamored with Canada. Prince Edward Island has beauty that is unparalleled and unique to it. Red sanded beaches, clear Atlantic Ocean water, sand dunes across the path from forests. I had never experienced anything that beautiful in my life.
I know America offers locations that are just as beautiful but as a city dweller I had yet to explore such destinations.
Canada stole my heart and has held it ever since. Ireland crept into a close second place, but Canada is a place my heart will always seek out.
It wasn’t just the natural beauty either between 2017 and 2019, I would visit multiple Canadian provinces getting a feel for the different parts of Canada.
2017, Prince Edward Island, Lobster Dinners, Historical Tours, National Parks
2018, Toronto, CN Tower, Taylor Swift, Niagara Falls
2019, Vancouver, Bastille Concert, Stanley Park, Traditional Dim Sum
I’m hopeful to add Banff National Park to this list by 2027.
Between the nice people, delicious food and utterly different feel from the US, my heart was stolen by this country.
If you haven’t been yet I highly recommend a trip to Canada. It’s a wonderful vacation destination!
Travel Tip: Plan Early & Secure Your Spot
As you know by now I am a travel advisor and agent. I assist my clients in planning and booking their dream trips. Recently I was approached by a client to book her wedding anniversary in 2025. She wanted to go on a cruise with her husband. They planned to leave in August 2025 out of a major US port. She contacted me in late May/ early June of this year.
Our initial consultation went great. She paid my planning fee and we were off to the races. I had no issue finding a cruise to fit her request. She’s going to have an amazing cruise in August of 2025. Instead the problem raised in the pre cruise trip she planned to have in the port city.
She wanted to stay within walking distance (2 miles or less) of a major landmark. She had had this trip before and wanted to show her husband the local sites and eateries. She even had a preferred hotel.
More than 365 days in advance nearly every hotel in the city is booked for the dates she wanted to visit, the week before and the week after!
When I explained this to her she was willing to move the radius to a 10 minute car ride or less.
With some calls and requests to my vendors I was actually able to get her a hotel within the original radius. But it was tough and took quite some time to find.
All that to say this. If you know where you want to go it’s best to find it, book it and place your deposits.

Many cruises are already planning for the 2025-2026 season with resorts not far behind.
